If you don't already have Windows compatible audio recording software, you can download the full featured shareware CDWAVE software program to use with this mic for recording high quality audio here. For Mac users, Garage Band works well.

Features:

-High sensitivity, high fidelity omnidirectional boundary microphone built-in (see specifications for details)

-Headphone monitor jack with independent controls so you can hear what you are recording. Also serves as the headphone output for other audio sources. (The real-time headphone monitor is not activated with a Mac). If you need headphones, you can add them in the option box above.

-Optional USB extenders are available for tight clearance USB ports. Add these in the option boxes above.

-Optional USB extension cables available if you want to move the mic away from the computer, or if you want to attach the mic to the lid of a laptop with some Velcro (not supplied). Add this in the option box above.

-Compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0

Mac instructions:

1-If you have not done so already, download this file. Unzip the downloaded driver zip file. A folder will appear in a new window. Open the folder.

2-Double click the folder called "InstallCmSkypeMW.app" and you will be
guided through the installation process. Your should be prompted to reboot
your computer when the installation is complete.

To test the mic using Garage Band:
1-Open Garage Band and open preferences.

2-Click the Audio/Midi tab.

3-Change the audio input to USB recorder headphone set.

4-If you want the playback audio to come through your computer speakers as
usual, do not change the audio output preferences. If you want to listen to playback through the USB mic's headphone jack, change the audio output to USB recorder headphone set.

5-Check to see if your Mac is getting an audio signal by looking for
movement on the recording levels.

6-You are now ready to record high quality audio with your new mic!
