Description:

Mic2496 - Dual Mic Pre-Amp/A-to-D Convertor

The Mic2496 runs on a single 9 volt battery and provides true 48 Volt phantom power to condensor microphones (switchable). It also provides ganged concentric level controls, individual "good level" (-12 dB) and "clip" (-1.5 dB) LED indicators, externally switch-selectable sample rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 KS/s (32, 176.4 and 192 KS/s available via internal jumpers), a battery "low voltage" indicator, a "Phantom Power On" indicator, and both coaxial (via 1/8-inch miniplug) and optical (via Toslink) S/PDIF outputs. It has a DC Power jack (7 to 14 VDC at 200 mA) to accept power from an AC adapter or external battery packs. It also will interface cleanly to all Sony portable DAT recorders, including the older TCD-D7 and -D8 (configured for the older recorders via an internal jumper).

For microphone input, Mic2496 has a 5-pin Mini-XLR jack that accepts a variety of breakout cables including one that accepts two standard balanced XLR-M plugs and another that accepts a stereo unbalanced 1/8-inch (3.5mm) mini-phone plug. These cables can be ordered as options above.

Mic2496 is housed in a very rugged, black anodized aluminum case. It's 5-1/16 inches long, 3 inches wide and 1-3/8 inch high.
