ISI-HMA-1

Headphones with Built-in Stereo Microphones

Are they headphones? Or are they microphones? Actually, these portable headphones are both! That’s right. You can switch from recording to listening using just one device. After you are finished recording, simply flick the switch and move the connector from the “mic input” to the “headphone output” of your recorder, and you can easily listen to what you have just recorded. This 2-in-1 item makes recording and listening very convenient. This headphone assembly can be very stealthy, appearing as though you are listening to a portable stereo (MD, DAT or cassette recorder), when in fact you are making a high fidelity binaural recording. You can also choose to wear these headphones around your neck casually, when in actuality you are making a discreet stereo recording.

This assembly uses lightweight Sony walkman-style headphones with a frequency response of 18 – 20,000hz, using high quality built-in mics available with either omni directional or uni-directional (cardioid) microphone elements. One microphone element is mounted within each earpiece on the headphones using the ear pads as windscreens, thereby covering the microphone elements. Note: A 1-meter cable is supplied with this headphone/microphone assembly using a right angle stereo connector.

You can record your concert experience, and listen to it again on the way home. Or you can record a meeting or lecture without detection, for later review.

5 out of 5 stars Great for Casual Recording 00/00/0000
Reviewer: A viewer   from Paradise, CA US
We were going to Walt Disney World for vacation with another couple and I decided it would be fun to record our casual conversations around the parks with my iRiver recorder. Wearing the headphones was very comfortable as I extended the headband fully and placed the headphone microphone/speakers behind and just below my ears. I wear a wide brimmed hat when I am out in the sun so it helps keep the headband in place. After awhile I really forgot that they were there. With the microphones pointed forward in this configuration the stereo separation was very good.
