This is a multifunctional stereo microphone assembly which can be used for many different recording situations. This microphone was originally designed to be worn around your neck as a "microphone-necklace". It is constructed with flexible gooseneck arms allowing you to aim the mics very accurately at the sound source (excellent for cardioid mics, as well as omni). It can also be used as a desktop mic, set up for interviewing or you can get creative and position the mics many different ways as you can see from the pictures below. There is also an accessory mount available designed to mount the mics on a standard mic stand. The best part is, the "Goosenoose" is available with many different types of microphones (listed below) mounted on each end, depending on your recording situation. Included in the choice of microphones are the Audio Technica series: AT831, AT853, the new slimline series which are comparable to the 853's, but much smaller, and now the subminiature micro-sized omni AT899c (BMC-10), and the cardioid AT898c (CMC-9).
Note: The Premium Audio Technica (853) and the Premium Slimline Audio Technica series have four different interchangeable mic elements available: omni, cardioid, sub-cardioid, and hyper-cardioid. The slimline series sub-cardioid uses the 853 element with an adapter making the slimline a little larger. Additional elements (pick-up patterns) can be purchased separately for different recording situations, eliminating the need to purchase a second set of microphones.
The cable exiting the mic body is 4 feet in length and is terminated with a high quality gold-plated stereo mini plug. The standard length for the mic body is 24 inches total, but other lengths may be available upon request.
Note: The optional high SPL built-in power module is about the size of a car remote (L=2.1,H=1.3,D=.5 inches) and has the gooseneck exiting each side.
