Description:

The Micro sized Premium Audio Technica microphone system utilizes a matched set of AT898 Audio Technica microphones. The flexible, high quality lightweight shielded 55 inch microphone cable enters the mic body from the bottom. An assortment or removable lavaliere (lapel) clips are included. The two microphone cables are terminated together into a high quality stereo gold plated 1/8" (3.5mm) mini plug ready to connect to your portable recorder's microphone input. These mics are a great choice for unobtrusive recordings and are easily the smallest, best sounding cardioid microphones available. They have a gently bass roll off that is ideal for live concert recording.

These microphones can be powered with normal "plug-in-power", available on many portable recorders and camcorders. For use in high SPL (sound pressure level) situations, the microphones require additional power, beyond the normal "plug in power". You will need to add a battery module (power supply) or Phantom power kit as described below:

Option 1: Add a battery module for increased high SPL performance and dynamic range. You can add a basic battery module above (SP-SPSB-6 with no options and 24" output cable shown here). There are many other types of modules with various options also available on this page if you prefer.

Option 3: Add 2 - Samson PM4 phantom power adapters and locking mini XLR plugs. This will allow you to use the mics with 9-52v Phantom power which is available on many professional mixers, mic preamps and recorders. When powered with Phantom power, the dynamic range and maximum SPL (sound pressure level) are increased even further (see specs below).

Option 4: Add the Phantom power adapter kit. This will allow you to use the mics with "plug in power", a battery module (as in option 1) or with 9-52v Phantom power which is available on many professional mixers, mic preamps and recorders. When powered with Phantom power, the dynamic range and maximum SPL (sound pressure level) are increased even further (see specs below). The phantom power kit includes two phantom power adapters (Samson PM-4) and two high quality gold plated cable adapters as shown in the picture below.
