Download a short MP3 sample here. This sample was made with a Dell Latitude D510 Laptop computer with the mic in the USB port on the side of the computer. The person speaking in the recording was sitting in front of the Laptop at a normal typing distance (about 18" from the mic).

This is an all-in-one high quality USB microphone, capable of picking up all of the sounds in an entire room (range of 40-50 feet average). It's small size (smaller than a USB pen drive!) makes it perfect for situations where you don't want to draw attention to the fact that you are recording audio right into your computer. It also includes a headphone jack that offers real-time monitoring of the sound begin recorded. It has high quality 5.1 virtual surround sound output for playback of stereo sources.

Features:

-High sensitivity, high fidelity omnidirectional microphone built-in (see specifications for details)

-Headphone monitor jack with independent controls so you can hear what you are recording. Also serves as the headphone output for other audio sources. (The real-time headphone monitor is not activated with a Mac). If you need headphones, you can add them in the option box above.

-Microphone jack for external microphone. If an external microphone is plugged in, the sound from the external mic is blended with the built-in microphone. Microphone must be compatible with computer mic inputs. If you need an external microphone with the same sound quality as the mic built in, this is a excellent choice.

-Optional USB extenders are available for tight clearance USB ports. Add these in the option boxes above.

-Optional USB extension cables available if you want to move the mic away from the computer, or if you want to attach the mic to the lid of a laptop with some Velcro (not supplied). Add this in the option box above.

Mac instructions:

1-If you have not done so already, download this file. Unzip the downloaded driver zip file. A folder will appear in a new window. Open the folder.

2-Double click the folder called "InstallCmSkypeMW.app" and you will be
guided through the installation process. Your should be prompted to reboot
your computer when the installation is complete.

To test the mic using Garage Band:
1-Open Garage Band and open preferences.

2-Click the Audio/Midi tab.

3-Change the audio input to USB recorder headphone set.

4-If you want the playback audio to come through your computer speakers as
usual, do not change the audio output preferences. If you want to listen to playback through the USB mic's headphone jack, change the audio output to USB recorder headphone set.

5-Check to see if your Mac is getting an audio signal by looking for
movement on the recording levels.

6-You are now ready to record high quality audio with your new mic!
