Description:

The SP-MMC-3 microphone is a very small one piece microphone that can be plugged into any recorder (DAT, MiniDisc or analog) or computer that supplies a bias voltage of between 1.5 and 10 Volts DC at the microphone input jack. Many of the recorders on the market today include this feature, commonly called "plug in power'. The body of the microphone and connector are covered in black rubber for durability. The microphone is attached to the connector and is spring-loaded to save wear and tear on the mic jack of the recorder it's plugged into. The microphone is very small - measuring 3.5" long and about .5" wide.

This microphone, connected in this manner, is perfect for recording lectures, business meetings, interviews, etc. With the omnidirectional element, it picks up from all directions very well, and with exceptional clarity. Using the Sub-Cardioid element, it will pick up more in the direction is is pointed. With the Cardioid element, it will mostly pick up sounds from the direction it is aimed and with the Hyper-Cardioid element, it will pick up much like the Cardioid, but with an even tighter pickup pattern. The Sub/Cardioid/Hyper Cardioid elements are especially useful in situations where there is background noise that you are trying to reduce in your recording.

Sound Quality
The SP-MMM-3 microphone has a wide, flat frequency response and a very natural and accurate sound, providing deep, solid bass, smooth midrange and clean highs. It has a very wide dynamic range, and will handle very high sound pressure levels without distortion or clipping when combined with one of our battery modules.
