Super-Mini Battery Module
This battery module is recommended when you need to use our small microphones in high SPL situations, but don't have the space for a regular sized battery module. The super-mini premium battery module is our smallest microphone power supply (it's smaller than a standard pager). The dimensions (not including the belt clip) are 2.1" X 1.3" X .6". It provides the same level of power as the larger battery modules - without the larger size. The module is powered by a commonly available mini 12v car remote battery.
The power module will power your microphones with 12 volts of bias power (sometimes called "plug in power"). Most small Electret Condenser microphones will enjoy improved high SPL performance with this higher power, since most portable recorders only provide about 3 volts plug in power at the mic input. Available with in-line level control. Includes belt clip.
This power module is also available with an optional in-line level control. This option is most useful with recorders that don't allow adjustment of recording levels while recording and with recorders that don't have microphone sensitivity settings (some of the older SONY MD recorders). This optional feature adjusts the output of the microphone signal passing through the module, before going to the recorder. The user simply sets the record level ONCE on the recorder at full gain and adjusts the recording levels with the in-line level control at any time during the recording. The actual recording level is still read on the recorder's level meter. The in-line level control takes the place of the normal output cable and is 8" long. See picture below.
