Part #: SP-OTTER-1
Description:
The SP-OTTER-1 combines the functions of a high quality stereo omnidirectional microphone and a rugged water resistant case in one device. You can select the case size and microphone choice in the option boxes above.

This microphone can be plugged into any recorder (DAT, MiniDisc or analog) that supplies bias voltage of between 1.5 and 12 Volts DC at the microphone input jack, commonly known as "plug in power". Many of the recorders on the market today include this feature. Simply insert your recorder into the case, plug the microphone cable into the mic input on the recorder, start recording and close the case. This setup is very inconspicuous and the stereo imaging is excellent.

The Sound Professionals microphone has an extended frequency response and very natural and accurate sound, providing deep, solid bass, smooth midrange and clean highs. It has a very wide dynamic range, and will handle very high sound pressure levels without distortion or clipping.

Made in the USA.

5 out of 5 stars Small is Beautiful 00/00/0000

The hidden gem in the Sound Professionals range is the Otter box you can order with the preamp built in. If you get the binaural microphones and external mike socket, you have a CD quality recording studio in the palm of your hand. I used this recently in front row seats at a (loud but unamplified) brass band concert recently, and the resulting recording compares favourably to some commercial CDs. By the way, I bought the band's own CD as well, so they didn't miss out on their royalties! Great product, good price, and friendly service. Strongly recommended

5 out of 5 stars Incredibly unique, SUPER value! 00/00/0000

I've been doing stereo recordings for years with large, expensive condensor microphones and DAT's, laptops, etc. I was quite amazed with the sound this small, inexpensive setup produces! The ultimate test was I would record the conversation in a room to my Aiwa minidisc, then put on my headphones and play it back standing in the same position as the mic. I was consistantly fooled into thinking that someone was asking me something standing to my right, when it was actually a recording of that person from a few minutes ago. It works THAT well. It simulates a binaural recording system without the hastle of useing head mounted mics or a much more expensive mic and baffle system. It's a lot of fun, and NO ONE would ever know you are recording them with this thing. It's VERY stealthy. You can't lose!!
