MP3 samples of music recorded with our microphones

Below you will find many recording samples. The first section are short samples recorded in the same environment, with exactly the same equipment, (except for the microphones, of course). They were made with a basic laptop computer, SoundForge audio editing program and the iMic stereo USB interface (a very basic setup).

Other Details: Mics were plugged into the mic input, on low gain, input at maximum. - outdoor arena, seats about 20 rows back, stage left. - recorded at 24bit/48khz, and downsampled in adobe audition to 44/16, then to MP3 256kbps.

Other Details: This recording was made live in a High School auditorium. The two microphones were set up at the front of the orchestra pit, on a mic stand about 10' high. The mics were about 20 feet from the front of the Jazz band. Sadly, due to technical problems on stage, the guitar solo was buried in the mix :-(

Samson Mixpad 4 stereo portable mixer

Other Details: This recording was made live in a High School auditorium. The two SP-CMC-4 microphones were set up at the front of the orchestra pit, about 12' apart from each other on mic stands about 6' high. The stereo signal from the SP-CMC-4's was fed into channels one and two of the Samson Mixpad 4. No EQ of any kind was added while recording or during mastering. The vocals heard on these recordings was patched from the schools main PA board. Some audio imperfections (distortion in vocals and buzzing) are audible due to the wireless lapel microphones worn by the performers on stage. The vocals were mixed live with the music from the SP-CMC-4 mics using the Samson Mixpad 4 and recorded onto the MD recorder.

Other Details: “Halo” recorded in large U-shaped concert hall called “Spektrum”, in Oslo Norway, on the floor, 25 metres from the stack of left speakers (which were high up in the air). “Painting on the wall” recorded in a small rock club called “Kåren” in Göteborg, Sweden, from the stairs leading up to the balcony, parallel to the stage, about 15 metres from the left stack of speakers, about 2 metres above everyone on the floor. Mastered with Bass1 on MiniDisc. “Diamonds and rust” recorded at “Kåren” in Göteborg Sweden. Same spot as above.
