They feel as soft as they look and it's a definite improvement for me. The stock pads seemed comfortable at first, but after months of use it irritated my ears just to put them on and feel the weight clamp down, so I really needed this. Now they're comparable to the velour padding of my Sennheiser 598s. I didn't notice a difference in sound, but I'm no audiophile. I also tested for sound leaking that might irritate my friends through voice chat, but the microphone didn't pick up on anything, so I'm happy for that, seeing as how my Sennheisers have clearly proven to leak just about everything because of their open-back design, so I have that going for me.

I bought these to replace the stock pads on my AudioTechnica ATH-M50x headphones. These cans are known for their incredible sound signature and these pads didn't affect them at all. I have two sets of ATH-M50x headphones so I ordered a pair of these velour pads and replaced the pads on one of them. I went back and forth and could not hear any difference. But the comfort of these make a big difference. Very comfortable and easy to wear for longer periods of time. Great customer service team as well when I had a question. Highly recommended!
